Bill Maher targets drone ‘terrorism’

Bill Maher suggested Friday that Americans would label drone attacks “terrorism” if another country were to act against the U.S. in a similar way.

Maher wrote about reports of Iranians shooting at an unmanned drone near Iranian airspace earlier this month and noted that after U.S. officials asked Iranian officials to return the drone, they declined and released pictures of Iranian officials reviewing the aircraft, The Associated Press reported Nov. 8.

“I didn’t go to West Point or anything but I’m guessing if one of our planes came upon an unmanned Iranian death-copter off the coast of Jersey the order wouldn’t be to ‘get a nice picture of it,’” Maher wrote.

He continued: “We utilize the best means at our disposal to go into foreign lands and blow up the people we consider the bad guys even if that means collateral damage in the form of civilian casualties. When someone does that exact same thing to us, don’t we call it ‘terrorism?’”
As for the Iranians shooting at the drone, the host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” wrote that Americans weren’t sure how to respond to the incident.
