Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) will visit Google, Facebook and eBay during a fundraising trip through Silicon Valley this week, his campaign confirmed on Tuesday.

It is unclear whether Paul will meet with the top executives at the Silicon Valley giants.

Paul, who is widely believed to be mulling a White House bid, has been becoming more involved in technology issues recently.

He blasted his colleagues for holding a hearing last week to examine Apple’s methods for avoiding taxes and said the Senate should apologize to Apple for the “spectacle” of the hearing.

He also introduced legislation last week that would require police to obtain a warrant to access any electronic records held by a third-party — a dramatic expansion of online privacy rights.

In 2012, Paul along with his father, former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), released a manifesto for Internet freedom that decried government attempts to regulate the Internet.
